Poker Room Opening at Fraser Downs

Hey all

I found job postings on craigslist and confirmed that they are posted at the Fraser Downs an Great Canadian Casino websites. They were for Dealers, Floor people, Assistant Managers and a Poker Room manager. One ad had this line in iy:

"Fraser Downs Racetrack & Casino excited to announce the addition of a 12 table Poker Room."

wow, big news. Wonder if there is demand.I believe Fraser Downs is GCC Great canadian?

There are alot of things you could do to make a popular working 12 table room. Hopefully an Omaha game or tournies.

I don't think there is enough demand for a new poker room in Cloverdale. Geographically it is closest to Cascades, I imagine likely it will cannibalize mostly from them. Cascades is already struggling during weekdays, I am worried how this will affect them.

If they could get one open in Abbotsford/Mission/Chilliwack, there is alot of demand, right there

Yes, I would love to see one open up in Abbotsford. It will draw some new players from the east side of the valley, and may take some players from north of Fraser that goes to Boulevard right now.

It has a big population in and of itself to serve, close to Mission and Chilliwack. Heck, it could even draw players from as far as the Columbia Valley. Last but not least, a closer alternative to Cascades for yours truly. It will probably still take away some players from Cascades, but the effect should be less, and it will draw some new players that doesn't want to make the trek to existing casinos due to distance.
