Busted 24th, with a play that i should of never made. folded to me in CO 2.2x raise at 7/14k, get 3bet by villian (big winner) just the same as he had previous orbit. 3bet to 56~k or so, and i shoved 236k AI w/ A4, he had AK and crushed my hopes and dreams.

1/9 on playnow satellite for the 2.5k WSOP package. I realize shit structure is painfully slow. are 20 minutes levels really necessary for satellites?

Now that you mentioned it, JJ worked horribly for me on that final table.  0 for 3.

This hand happened before your AQ hand.  I think we were 8 handed (top 7 pays), blinds I think are 500/1000.  I have around 13k, the big stack/frequent raiser popped it to ~2150, the guy to your right shoved for ~10k.  I think the allin guy was one of the tighter player there, and I haven't seen him reraised at that point.  I was in the SB I think.  I had a sick feeling I might be behind, but I couldn't make myself fold.  I figured if I win I would be in good shape, if I was wrong I still have some chips.  If I fold, I think I would be around 8 or 9th place.  Unfortunately the allin guy had QQ.

I'm still kind of new to MTT, not sure if this is a standard shove, or should I let it go.  Thanks.

Fwiw, in non bubble situation I'm never folding JJ there. I don't know if I would even on the bubble unless I had a super dead on read vs said villain.

Granted in my last Vegas trip at a Venetian nightly tourney I folded JJ 5-handed but only bc I was so dead set the guy had a monster. He had aces but when I posted that question on old 604 forums not many seemed that they would fold that in that spot

Nice win James.  Is that you on the weekly leader board?  I wonder why it's mostly populated by Quebec players?  Playnow said there's about the same number of players from BC, I think the rest of us need to do some catching up :)

Yeah prob me @ #6 for the week but up til tonight ive been not even worrying about the nightly gaurentees, last 2 weeks only been playing the sunday tourneys. Gonna start playing em more now when i can, but working full time doesnt allow me to make most of the tourneys since ill not usually be home til 6pm (if i work like a 8-430pm shift) or late as 10pm (for 12-830pm)

sad news to report, my flopped straight lost to runner runner club, and final hand 99 lost to KJ, wow so close, now I have to cough up the cash

that was a brutal $13,000 bad beat. He had to runner/runner you and he did.

The sick thing was it was an all in bluff, he had nothing, except I guess a backdoor flushdraw to his 3 of clubs. Poker is so sick. I'm ill.

I feel quite bad about the PN$215 tonight.  I had ~60% of the chips 3 handed, I really didn't need to shove with A8 against villain (eventual winner) raise from SB.  He was super aggressive, thought I would push back with anything half decent.  Argh...  I could have played small ball and easily got to HU with that stack.

I find the big 4 promotion hilarious. I mean most people know of Metallica, but very few people(at least the main demographic for that site), would have listened to Slayer, Megadeath, and Anthrax.

I would think any type of electronic/dance for the younger demo or a major modern rock show like Lollapazooza or Cochaella, or possibly even a country fest for the older folks may fly over better.

This is coming from someone who had cassettes of all 4 of these bands back in the day. Peace sells but who's buyin'?

I get that Scott Ian of Anthrax has played the wsop and cashed and had tv time, so I think that was the biggest factor, in venue choice as oppposed to who was playing.

All time favorite Anthrax moment was their Married with Children episode.

Luckily an old metalhead like myself won. It's too bad that Iron Maiden won't be at this event though.

LOL Nice. The only thing I know about Anthrax is the "Bring the Noise" compilation they did with Public Enemy. If someone asked me who Scott Ian was I'd have no clue.

Ive been trying to win my entry for that, not that im a metalhead (like metallica, havent listened to much of the others) but more so to get a trip to new york for $66. That seems more than worthwhile... guess i should of closed it out the first week instead of being the donkey runner up

Like I said before, I think it's because Scott Ian is affiliated with poker. Im sure you could just substitute meet and greet at game with Phil Galfond or (insert famous poker person here) and it would fly more...

I don't wanna turn this into another what is wrong with playnow thread either.

I've met with playnow, and they have some great marketing plans, but it seems every possible great plan is limited by the BCLC and responsible gambling. The problem is the red tape.

 If you didn't have to abide by the red tape, you would have money transfers, every possible type of deposit option available, and the signup requirements would be relaxed... I don't think they will ever become a top tier site, because the powers that be will not fully give them 100% reign over their own domain.

This is the same if I run a 100 person satty for a live tourney. If I advertise and get a gaming license, I am only allowed to award a max. $2000 prize pool. Regardless of entry fee. We've had $25K prize pools for the beerman in the past.
 I always get a liqour license and pay that, but I would not be able to run a proper tourney with a BC gaming permit because of the same BCLC red tape. You wouldn't believe some of the rules involved in that.

I guess the end point of this rant, is I like PlayNow attempting to think outside the box, but Im pretty sure many of us, could think of some better marketing ideas. My only thought is Im sure Playnow could as well, but I have a feeling their hands are tied.  This is a big reason that there havn't been any site improvements in the 5-6 months they have operated, and tourney garuntees are dropped, as well as the player base.

I think playnow isn't able to participate in the forums anymore, but I really appreciated the efforts he put in, and I know alot of us have met up with him, and more will in the future.

Can't wait for the win a trip to New Orleans to meet Harry Connick Jr. in person!
